1. 1. Copy of your declaration, if you send one

   A copy of your signed declaration. You send it only in two cases. One: you take your child out of a public school. Two: your child will use public school classes or programs. The law does not ask you to keep a copy. A copy shows what you sent and when.

2. 2. Certificate of completion, if you ask for one

   Keep.

   This is optional. You may sign a certificate that your child finished home education. You may send it to the education commissioner. The state sends back a certificate within 30 days after it gets yours. Keep both.
